Stamp Anniething 2-Tone Star Ornament with Artesprix Stamp Pads
Hello & welcome my crafty friends! Terra O'Brien here with June's Blank of the Month Blog and the collaborating continues with Stamp Anniething! Two great companies with so such versatility. My project today I am using the June Blank of the Month the Artesprix 2ct Star Ornament. I had a great project in mind that I knew my kids would love too!
What are Artesprix Sublimation Arts & Crafts Supplies?
If you have never heard or Artesprix you are in for a treat! I am a papercrafter by nature and have heard of sublimation before but it seemed very intimidating until I found Artesprix. I love that I don’t have to buy an expensive sublimation printer to make amazing projects! Artesprix’s products from the markers to the blanks are so easy to use and makes it fun. Artesprix Iron-on-Ink is a complete line of sublimation products that allow artists and crafters to permanently personalize polyester-coated substrates with their own designs.

Artesprix Protective Paper
Artesprix Heat Tape
Heat Source: Home Iron or Artesprix Heat Press.
Copy paper or I used Bristol Smooth for blending
Step 1: Grab your paper and trace your blank. When I am using a blank with a hole it really helps me to trace the hole to make sure my blank lines up with me design. This way, I know where my design is going to sit on the blank.
Step 2: After I had my Star Ornaments traced out I could start planning on where I will be putting the stencil and my color placements.. I grabbed two Artesprix ink pads, Orange and Yellow. I always start with my lightest color to get the best blend. Once I had the yellow placed I could see how much blending I needed with the Orange Ink pad.
Step 3: This next part might seem a little intimidating but the results are totally worth it. Your going to lace the Woven Star Stencil down and grab your black ink and a clean bledning brush and you are going to go over the entire space with the black ink. Once you have done that it should look like this.
Pro Tip #1: Unlike paint brushes, you do not wash your stamp blending brushes. You will want to have separate blending brushes when using this ink, you do not want to intermix your brushes with your other inks.
Step 4: After you lay down the black you are going to want to let it dry for just a few minuets (since we added a few layers of ink) before you tape anything down. Don’t worry if it looks dull at first because once you add heat that color pops and is very vibrant!
Step 5: After you have ensured your ink is dry, it is time to tape your Star Ornament blank to your paper using the Artesprix Heat Safe Tape. I am always very generous with my tape because I don’t want my ornaments to move or shift while heating.
Pro Tip #2: Before I start to tape any of my blanks down I like to wipe the surface with a clean microfiber towel just to make sure there is nothing on my ornament before I add heat.
Step 6: Now it is time for another important step make your "sublimation sandwich". Using your Artesprix Protective Paper you want a piece under your Ornament and you also want to place a piece on top of your ornament. You can reuse your siliconized protective paper as long as nothing has transferred on to it.
Step 7: Set your Artesprix heat press timer for 75 seconds and press to 400℉. If using a Home Iron/Dry Iron, place “sublimation sandwich” on your Artesprix Project Mat and hold stationary while pressing firmly for approximately 3 minutes. If you are using a home iron you want to make sure it is on its highest setting with no steam.
Note: When transferring, your "sublimation sandwich" needs to be positioned so the heat only has to go through the paper, not the blank.
Step 8: My favorite steps, the "peek test"! Conduct the "peek test" by not removing any tape and carefully lift a corner of your paper to ensure you have a good transfer! If it didn’t transfer the way you wanted it to you can always repress for additional time.
Pro Tip #3: I love using tweezers for my peak test it keeps my fingers out of the way.
Step 9: The BIG REVEAL! Be very careful when removing the ornaments from your heat source they and will be very hot since they are made of metal! I placed mine on my Artesprix Project Mat to let it cool completely before adding the the included red ribbon.
Step 10: Repeat the steps above to personalize the other side.
Thank you so much for joining me with this project today! I had a lot of fun experimenting with all the fun stencils and combination of the ink pad colors. I can’t wait to see what you create!
