Birthday Celebration Layered Background Builder Stencil - Scrappy Boy Stamps

Heat Press (handheld or home iron)

Copy Paper & Pencil

Step-by-Step Tutorial:

Step 1: Trace blank onto a piece of copy paper with a pencil to create a template.  Pencil will not transfer to your final product.

Step 2: Cut around the template leaving about ¼ inch, and place it into my Misti stamp positioner. Use the specially designed Artesprix Hand Lettered Basics & Block Alphabet Sublimation Stamps to create a message, “Happy 27th”.

Pro Tip: If using a stamp positoner, reapply Black Ink Pad to stamp as many times as needed onto your copy paper to get a great transfer and allow to dry.

Step 3: Use a birthday themed stencil that includes balloons and confetti if you have on hand. This set is from Scrappy Boy Stamps, it is called, “Birthday Celebration Layered Background Builder Stencil” and has 3 different layers. This stencil makes it so easy to add balloons in 3 different colors without masking. I used the pink, purple and blue Sublimation Ink Pads to create a festive background with my stencils. Continue using each layering stencil with the colors listed to create an awesome background with minimal effort.

Step 4: If you are using a handheld Heat Source like me you will need an adequate application of the Artesprix Heat Tape to secure your design face down onto the blank.

Step 5: Cut 3 pieces of the Protective Paper. Place one under, inside, and on top of the secured Drawstring Bag blank.

Step 6: When using a hand-held heat press, you want to hold heat source firmly and stationary to ensure there is no shifting during the transfer process. Transfer at 400°F and transfer for 45 seconds.

Step 7: Do a "peek test" to ensure the color has transferred, If not, you can simply re-apply and press again, and repeat this process until you are satisfied with the outcome.

Step 8: If Step 7 was successful, allow to cool and the you can remove all of the paper to reveal your vibrate transfer.

With my project now complete, I would love to encourage my fellow crafters to level up their gift giving game and add a personal touches to their presents. Artesprix provides endless possibilities to create custom-made projects that show your recipient just how special they are! Let’s celebrate every moment with unique gift packaging that will make hearts smile and eyes sparkle.

Happy Crafting,

Kelly Nagy
