Be Mine Valentine Aresprix Sublimation Ornament
Hello! I Design Team Member Paula. I am primarily a paper crafter who loves to make greeting cards but I also love using paper and my creativity to make other things. My excitement for Artesprix products comes from the ability to use the inks in different forms and techniques to expand on the options of how I can use my skills and artwork.

What are Artesprix Sublimation Arts & Crafts Supplies?
Sublimation is the process of taking a solid ink and applying heat and pressure to allow it to vaporize skipping the liquid state. This causes the ink to permanently adhere to the surface if it is primarily a form of polyester or poly-coating as the heat causes the surface to accept the gases leaving behind vibrant and permanent colors. Commercially, printers are used to print the designs. Artesprix provides products such as markers, ink pads, and paints to allow us to create projects at home without committing to a printer and lets us dip into our creative side too.
Supplies:
Heart Ornaments 2ct
Sublimation Markers
Artesprix Sublimation Stencil - Modern Alphabet
Electronic Cutter such as Cricut or Silhouette (optional)
Pencil
Copy/printer papers
Scissors
Artesprix Heat Tape
Artesprix Protective Paper Roll
Heat Source
Heat Protection Gloves
Glass mat (optional)
Glassboard Studio
Step-by-Step Tutorial:
Step 1: Choose a phrase to create using design draw software on your cutter with a pencil in a mirrored position on plain copy paper.
Pro Tip: By using a pencil in the cutting machine as opposed to the sublimation marker, you prolong the quality of the marker nib.
Step 2: Trace the penciled phrase with the blank ornament so that the phrase is centered. Trace the ornament again on the same sheet of paper to create s second template as the blank is double sided.
Step 3: Trace over the penciled phrase with an Artesprix marker in the color of your choice.
Step 4: On second heart template, use the Artesprix stencil to spell out another phrase. Be sure to do this in a backwards/mirrored position.
Step 5: Fill in the areas around your text on both hearts with markers in various colors. Simple roses can be made by using spiral shapes. I decided against some of my doodles the heart with “Be Mine” on it so I put heat tape over the areas that I did not want to transfer onto the ornament.
Step 6: Secure the ornament with heat tape to one of the finished designs.
Step 7: Create a "sublimation sandwich" by placing your secured project between two pieces of protective paper.
Step 8: Press with heavy pressure at 400 ℉ for 75 seconds.
Step 9: Be cautious this step is HOT, please use heat protection gloves. After 75 seconds, lift a corner of the paper and peek to ensure that the ink is transferred and vibrant on the pillow sham. If not, heat a little longer and do another test. If so, remove from heat source and let cool.
Step 10: Once cool, remove the paper.
Step 11: Repeat steps 6-10 for the other side of the ornament.
Now you have a beautiful ornament to decorate a vase for any occasion!
I love a piece of décor that can be holiday specific but can also be used for other times. With this double-sided ornament you just flip it as desired. Artesprix markers are so easy and versatile to use.
