Hi, crafty friends! It’s Design team Member Debbie and today we’re diving into some more Halloween crafting fun! For this project, I'm sharing a Halloween Garden Flag that you can show off in yard this Halloween. What is Artesprix Iron-on-Ink?
Artesprix Iron-on-Ink is a game-changer for crafters. It's a specialized sublimation ink that allows you to transfer vibrant designs onto compatible surfaces with heat and pressure. Unlike traditional sublimation, which requires expensive printers, Artesprix makes it accessible for all makers. Once your design is transferred, it's permanently infused, making it durable and long-lasting.
Supplies:

Step-by-Step Tutorial:
Step 1: For today's project, I'm designing everything in Scan-N-Cut Canvas Workspace. we want to ensure that he design you create will fit well on the blank. My Garden Flag Blank measures 15 in x 11 in.
Pro Tip: Keep the size of your heat platen in mind. If you are using a Heat Press you can have a larger design than a Handheld Craft Press. If you have a smaller heat source you will need to do multiple transfers to fill the template.
Step 2: Create the desired phrase with the preferred themed font. Mirror the design if it has text. I went with "No Trespassing! We're Tired of Hiding the Bodies!"
Step 3: Load copy paper and the Artesprix Sublimation Marker color of your choice into the machine and let the Scan-N-Cut SDX125 do the hard work of mirroring and coloring it in.
Step 4: Once your design is ready, it’s time to transfer it to the flag. Place your design face down on the flag and secure it with plenty of heat resistant tape.
Step 5: Next, make your "sublimation sandwich". Cut two pieces of Protective Paper bigger than the Heat Source or Garden Flag. Place the secured project in-between as shown below.
Step 6: I used my Heat Press for this project, pressing for 55 seconds at 400°F.
Pro Tip #2: Always check with your sublimation blank vendor to know the heat and time needed. Artesprix includes this on the product page for each blank as well as in their printable directions library.
Step 7: Before removing all the tape, do a "peek test" to make sure the transfer was successful. If it looks good, go ahead and remove the design for the big reveal! If not, check your time, temperature, position of project, pressure, and press again.
Pro Tip #3: This "project saving step" in Step 7 only works if the tape and design were kept in the exact same position.
Step 8: My "peek test" was successful so I can reveal my transfer. Pair with your standard Yard Flag Stand and show off how spooktacular sublimation can be!
