Christmas in July Sublimation Glitter Zip Case
Hi guys! I'm Design Team Member Debbie from Debbie J’s Crafting Corner. Today, I am super excited to share with you a festive and sparkly project using Artesprix Iron-on-Ink! July means the holidays and around the corner, earlier this month I featured a spooky themed project, now I am ready to start making Christmas Crafts. These Glitter Zip Cases come in a set of 2, and the rainbow iridescent sparkles are the perfect backdrop for a colorful sublimation transfer.

What is Artesprix Iron-on-Ink?
Artesprix Iron-on-Ink is a game-changer for crafters. It's a specialized sublimation ink that allows you to transfer vibrant designs onto compatible surfaces with heat and pressure. Unlike traditional sublimation, which requires expensive printers, Artesprix makes it accessible for all makers. Once your design is transferred, it's permanently infused, making it durable and long-lasting.
Supplies:
Glitter Zip Case 2ct
Die-cutting Machine (Platinum 6)
Magic Mat
Picket Fence Paper Pouncers
Simon Hurley’s Nordic Knit Stamp
Reverse Tweezers
Heat Protective Gloves
Regular Copy Paper
Step-by-Step Tutorial:
Step 1: Trace your blank onto a piece of regular copy paper to create a template that matches the size of our zip case.
Step 2: Place the copy paper into your MISTI Stamp Platform (not shown) and position the Nordic Knit stamp. Ink it up with Blue Artesprix Sublimation Ink and stamp your design. Repeat as necessary to cover the entire template.
Step 3: Try something new with me! I inked up some scrap paper using red and green Artesprix Ink Pads and Picket Fence Paper Pouncers.
Then I die cut holiday shapes from the “Skating into the Holiday” dies stamp (Spellbinders Die of the Month for July 2024) and layered and glued the die cuts over the stamped design template.
Step 4: Adhere the finished design to either side of the Glitter Zip Case using heat-resistant tape.
Step 5: For the "Sublimation Sandwich” you need protective paper. I cut a large piece and folded in half, placing the secured project inside. Make sure that each half is larger than your blank and design.
Step 6: Preheat your heat press to 385°F and press for 45 seconds. Ensure the zipper part of the zip case is outside the press to ensure consistent pressure, and the design closest to the heat (positioned as shown), press to transfer your design.
Step 7: Before removing the tape, peel back a small part of your design to ensure the transfer was successful. If it is not, check your sublimation sandwich, time, temperature, and pressure, and re-press.
Step 8: Once confirmed, remove the tape and reveal your beautifully transferred design. Allow blank to cool before repeating the steps above to personalize the other side.
I'm in love with this Christmassy glitter zip case with its gorgeous Christmassy pattern with vibrant colors! The combination of the Nordic Knit pattern and die-cut elements makes it perfect for the holiday season. This technique of layering sublimated die cuts is a game-changer, and I can't wait to use it in more projects.
Thank you for joining me today as we explored the fun of sublimation with Artesprix Iron-on-Ink. I would love to see your project if you try this, please share it in the Artesprix Facebook Group.
