Cookie Serving Tray Created with Sublimation Inks from Artesprix

Blank Of The Month, Stamp Pads, trivet

Hello! Design Team Member Alison here and it's time for me to share the April Blank of the month with you, which is a Trivet. This item is only available through the month of April, so if you like it, you need to grab it while you can! This is a great item for snacks, a candle display, protecting surfaces from hot pans, etc. Plus the size is great! It's kind of like the Goldilocks Effect where it's not too big, and not too small. Plenty of room to personalize, without it being too overwhelming.

What is Artesprix Iron-on-Ink?

Artesprix Sublimation Markers, Ink, and Paint are specially formulated to allow you to use basic copy paper to: color, stamp, stencil, and monoprint anything you wish and turn it into a heat-transferable design. These designs are then applied to a polyester or polyester coated substrate with heat and pressure. You can use a heat press or a home iron! These designs, through this process of sublimation, will become permanent on your substrates.

Trivet

Sublimation Stamp Ink in Brown and Pink

Protective Paper

A Colorful Life Designs: A Lot of Angles Stencil

Step-by-Step Tutorial:

Step 1: Trace the Trivet onto a piece of copy paper.

Step 2: Begin inking the top of the stencil at the top of the penciled outline. I only went down about a 1/4 of the way with the brown. I held my stencil in place with magnets that work with my glass mat, but you can also use tape.

Step 3: Ink blend the Pink Sublimation Stamp Ink into the brown. Then ink a heavy section of pure pink, and lighten your pressure as you continue down to create a fade out. You can see I didn't go all the way to the bottom of my stencil, so that I didn't have a harsh end line.

Here is my finished design. I have wallpaper in my dining room that has lines like this, plus it's pink, so this Trivet is going to coordinate really well when it's sublimated.

Step 4: Tape the Trivet to the Design using Heat Tape. This is a thick and heavy Blank, so be sure to use a lot of tape.

Step 5: It’s time to make the "Sublimation Sandwich". This sandwich not only ensures a great transfer of your design, but it will protect your heat source from any ink transfer as well. Position the Trivet with the paper on the top, between two pieces of Protective Paper.

Step 6: Let's sublimate! Press the Trivet with heavy pressure for 105 seconds at 400°F degrees.

Step 7: Now it's time for the "Peek Test". Lift a corner of the design away from the sublimated Trivet to make sure the design transferred well. If it didn't, you can sublimate again since the design is still attached to the Blank. Mine came out great the first time, so I can finish removing my design.

Here is a comparison between the original design and the sublimated Trivet. I really love the blend between the pink and brown and the fade to white.
