Dreamy Door Hanger with Iron-on-Ink
Good morning. Nicole here! I'm excited to share this adorable door hanger I created using Artesprix's blank of the month for August! I just received my butterfly stamps from Pinkfresh Studio and I can’t wait to use them for today’s project!
What are Artesprix Markers?
Artesprix Sublimation Markers have the capability to transfer your drawings from a plain copy paper to any Polyester Fabric or Polyester Coated Blank with a unique process called, "'Sublimation."
Materials:
Butterfly Stamp Set from Pinkfresh Studio
Gems
Chipboard Embellishment
Plain Copy Paper
Pencil
Heat Press or Home Iron
Step-by-Step Tutorial:
Step 1: Trace your door hanger onto a plain piece of copy paper using a pencil. That way you know how much space you have to work with.
Pro Tip: Set your heat press at 400℉ for 90 seconds before you start working on your door hanger. That way, the heat press will be hot enough to sublimate your images when you are finished. :)
Step 2: Stamp images within the traced area using the Sublimation Ink Pad and Acrylic Block.
Step 3: Next, color in the images using your Sublimation Markers. It's OK to go outside the lines...that way you do not get any white edges if you are coloring the entire background.
Step 4: Using heat tape, tape down the door hanger (white side faced down) onto the colored images.
Step 5: Place a piece of Protective Paper at the top and bottom of your door hanger. Place your "Sublimation Sandwich" inside the heat press for 90 seconds at 400℉.
Note: Your design should be face down to the blank. From Top to Bottom your Sandwich should be:
Protective Paper
Design Face Down
Blank
Protective Paper
Step 6: Carefully, remove project from heat press using gloves. Then place the door hanger onto the Project Mat to cool down.
Step 7: Before removing the Protective Paper, take a sneak peek to make sure the colors transferred onto the blank to desired color.
Step 8: Remove the paper and heat tape to reveal your vivid designs! Embellish as desired!
