Hello all, A splash of sublimation ink creates a beautiful background for stamped images. This splash technique is a great process to use with the Artesprix Sublimation Canvas Zip Case. This design also features the Hero Arts - Hero Florals stamp set. Check out the instructions and Mixed Media Quick Tips Video below for the step by steps. Also if you haven't heard, Emerald Creek Craft Supplies has a line of Sublimation Stamps that are designed to work with Sublimation Ink!

What is Sublimation Iron-on-Ink?
It is an interesting and fun product that allows you to create a design on standard copy paper that can then be heat transferred onto surfaces (must have polyester in it or have a polyester coating). Once the project is transferred to the blank, it is lifetime permanent. Before Artesprix, you would need a fancy printer to experience this level of personalization, but not anymore!
Step 1: Trace around Zip Case with a pencil (the pencil will not transfer) as a guide as to where you will want your design.
Step 2: Place a dot of Stamp Refill ink onto a non porous craft mat. I use blue, pink and purple. Spray with water to dilute ink.
Pro Tip: Spread ink out a bit. Don’t over do it, you don’t want the ink to completely blend together.
Step 3: Lay copy paper down into a pool of ink. Carefully lift up paper and allow it to dry.
Step 4: Once dry, roughly stamp Inspired Background (Sublimation stamp) with Black Sublimation Stamp ink.
Step 5: Stamp floral image from the Hero Arts Florals stamp set with Black Sublimation Ink. You can also add a “Life Quote” (Sublimation Stamp). Step 6: Color stamped floral image with Artesprix Sublimation markers.
Step 7: Once finished, secure design to the Canvas Case with heat tape. Step 8: Make a "Sublimation Sandwich" by placing the Canvas Zip Case between two pieces of protective paper.
Pro Tip #2: Artesprix Canvas Zip Cases are high quality so there is no need to put protective paper inside to prevent ink from transferring to the back. It is recommended to do so if you are not sure if it will transfer through. Pro Tip #3: Place a piece of foam (or pressing pillow) underneath the zip case to allow for effective heat transfer due to the zipper. If you do not have a piece of foam, place your zipper on the outside of your press during transfer. Step 9: Heat set using appropriate settings for the blank. The Artesprix Canvas Zip calls for 40 seconds at 400℉.
Step 10: After heat set, take-a-peek at the design to ensure transfer was successful (do not remove tape until transfer is confirmed). Re-heat if needed. Remove paper to reveal the transferred design.
