Glitter Zip Case, Stamp Pads

Hi Everyone! It's Design Team Member Sarah and from A Paper Moment. Have you used the Artesprix Glitter Zip Case yet? It’s so pretty! I’m going to show you how you can use quatrefoil patterns to create a fun repeating design to compliment the lovely glittery case. These come in a set of 2, and are double sided, for double the creativity! And the gold and brown zipper finish give this blank an extra high quality touch!

What are Artesprix Sublimation Arts & Crafts Supplies?

Artesprix has produced specially formulated products that permanently transfer a design you create onto a polyester or polyester coated substrate (the blank) through a mechanism called sublimation. Sublimation is a chemical process in which the combination of heat and pressure allows the solid form of the design to turn into a gas and permanently integrate into your project so it won’t peel or fade. What’s great is that along with the Artesprix sublimation arts and craft supplies such as Sublimation Markers, Paints, and Inks, you can easily utilize items you may already have such as stamps, stencils, and electronic cutting machines for quick and easy projects.

Supplies:

Glitter Zip Case

Sublimation Ink Pads

Quatrefoil Pattern Builder Bundle

Heat Tape

Protective Paper Roll

Protective Project Mat

Multi-Purpose Cleaner

Acrylic Stamp Block

Copy/Printer paper

Pencil

Ink blending tool with foam domes

Finger blending brushes or mini ink blending tools

Low tack tape

Step-by-Step Tutorials:

Step 1: Trace the Glitter Zip Case onto a piece of copy paper with pencil as pencil will not transfer during sublimation. Mark the top, or where the zipper would be.

Step 2: Use low tack tape to mask off the areas on the stencil and paper you want to leave blank. Use the largest open quatrefoil shape in the stencil and ink blend with Yellow Sublimation Ink. Keep moving the stencil to fill in the traced space of the blank.

Pro Tip: When shifting the stencil, use the first shape in the stencil and line it up with the last ink blended quatrefoil to ensure equal spacing. This can be done vertically and horizontally as the shape is symmetric.

Step 3: Pick various stamps, and with an acrylic block, stamp the designs with Orange Sublimation Ink onto the yellow ink blended quatrefoils. Change up the patterns every other quatrefoil.

Step 4: Use a smaller open shape in the stencil to ink blend with Green Sublimation Ink in the spaces created between the larger quatrefoils.

Pro Tip #2: A finger blending brush or mini ink blending tool makes it easier to get into the smaller design.

Step 5: Use Blue Sublimation Ink and stamp the 4 small dots around the green ink blended shapes.

Pro Tip #3: Use the Artesprix Multi-Purpose Cleaner to clean your stamps and stencil.

Step 6: Lint roll the Glitter Zip Case before securing your design. Insert a pressing pillow or small folded towel into the Glitter Zip Case. This will prevent the zipper from obstructing the transfer. Alternatively, you can also leave the zipper outside the heat source when pressing to ensure even pressure.

Step 7: With the design facing the blank, secure the design to the blank with heat tape.

Step 8: Create a “sublimation sandwich.” The ingredients are a piece of Protective Paper, Glitter Zip Case, secured design facing the blank, Protective Paper. This will protect your heat source and work surface.

Step 9: On a sturdy work top table surface, place the "sublimation sandwich" in your heat press and transfer for 45 seconds at 385℉. If using a handheld heat source, use the Protective Project Mat to protect your work surface.

Step 10: Using heat protective gloves, carefully peel back a corner to do a “peek test.” If the design is vibrant on your blank, it successfully sublimated. If not, place the corner back down and press again.

Pro Tip #4: Step 10 only works if you don’t move the tape out of place so that you may transfer again if needed with less risk of ghosting.

Step 11: Let the blank cool then sublimate a design on the other side using the same steps above. You can also create a whole new pattern if you prefer.

There are so many quatrefoil patterns you can create! Let your imagination flow! The patterns can be used to design a project for any person. Switch up the colors and have fun! My niece’s favorite color is yellow, so I know she’ll like to use this case for her pencils and paint brushes.
