What is Sublimation Iron-on-Ink?
It is an interesting and fun product that allows you to create a design on standard copy paper that can then be heat transferred onto surfaces (must have polyester in it or have a polyester coating). Once the project is transferred to the blank, it is lifetime permanent. Before Artesprix, you would need a fancy printer to experience this level of personalization, but not anymore!
Supplies:
Sublimation Ink Markers
Sublimation Stamp Ink Refill - Black
Protective Project Mat
Wine Stopper Sublimation Blank
Heat tape
Protective paper
Stampers Anonymous - Tim Holtz Collection Shifter Stencil, THSM025
Craft Mat
Fan Brush
Computer Paper
Heat Source
Step-by-Step Tutorial:
Step 1: Prepare the Shifter Stencil by adhering it in place so it will not move during coloring. Place paper below the stencil and adhere it as well.
Step 2: Start by coloring in the stencil openings with Sublimation Markers.
Step 3: “Shift” stencil to new position and continue to color in spaces.
Step 4: “Shift” paper again to cover an already colored area and trace with Black Sublimation Marker.
Step 5: Continue to “Shift” and color until you achieve the desired result.
Step 6: Remove stencil to reveal design.
Step 7: Add water to a few drops of Black Sublimation Refill ink and then apply ink splatters with fan brush.
Step 8: IMPORTANT, remove protective film from both metal Wine Stopper inserts.
Step 9: Place Wine Stopper blanks onto inked paper as desired and secure with heat tape.
Step 11: Make a "Sublimation Sandwich" by placing the secured project between two pieces of protective paper.
Step 12: Heat set using appropriate settings for the project 385℉ for 45 seconds.
Step 13: After heat set, take-a-peek at the transfer to ensure it was successful (do not remove tape until transfer is confirmed). Re-heat if needed.
Step 14: Remove paper to reveal the transferred design.
Step 13: With double sided tape provided with Wine Stopper, attach blank to the front and back.
Now it’s your turn! Grab your Artesprix’s Sublimation Markers and give this project a try! Don't forget this Wine Stopper Blank is only available for the month of January. It is a great blank to celebrate the new year, or create something sweet for your Valentine. Keep some on hand for when inspiration strikes!
