Glittery Watercolor Artesprix Blank of the Month Zip Case
This month’s Blank of the Month (BOTM) is all about that glittery, shimmery goodness. The Artesprix sublimation Glitter Zip Case is full of sparkle and pizazz, all while providing the perfect base for a flawless Iron-on-Ink transfer. Check out how I created a watercolor background with just water and a few drops of Sublimation Stamp Ink Refills. It’s the perfect backdrop to compliment your favorite stamp set. For the step by steps, see the instructions and Mixed Media Quick Tips Video below.

What is Sublimation Iron-on-Ink?
It is an interesting and fun product that allows you to create a design on standard copy paper that can then be heat transferred onto surfaces (must have polyester in it or have a polyester coating). Once the project is transferred to the blank, it is lifetime permanent. Before Artesprix, you would need a fancy printer to experience this level of personalization, but not anymore!
Supplies:
Sublimation Stamp Pad –Black
Sublimation Stamp Ink Refills - Purple, Pink, Orange
Protective Project Mat
Blank of the Month Glitter Zip Case
Heat tape
Protective paper
Bo Bunny - Butterfly Kisses
Palette Knife
Craft Mat
Corner Rounder punch
Computer Paper
Heat Press
Step-by-Step Tutorial:
Step 1: Spray your craft mat with water.
Pro Tip: You could also use a piece of Artesprix Protective Paper, key is to ensure it is a non-porous surface.
Step 2: Add drops of Purple, Pink, and Orange Sublimation Stamp Ink Refill onto water sprayed craft mat.
Step 3: Use a palette knife to blend the ink and water together, don’t over blend.
Step 4: Lay a piece of copy paper down into the ink and water mixture. Slowly lift paper off of ink and allow it to dry.
Step 5: Once dry, create a template with pencil based on the measurements of the zip case, 6.5" x 9.4".
Step 6: Stamp butterflies onto paper with Black Sublimation Ink.
Optional: Water down a few drops of Refill Ink and then add ink splatters to paper with a fan brush.
Step 7: If your design is larger than your blank you can skip this step, but if not, use a corner punch to round each corner of the paper.
Step 8: Place the Glitter Zip Case onto inked paper and secure with heat tape.
Step 9: Make a "Sublimation Sandwich" by placing the prepared paper and blank between two pieces of protective paper.
Pro Tip #2: It is also a good idea to put a piece of protective paper inside. If there is no ink on it, you can reuse it. if there is ink on it, then you'll be glad you used it!
Step 10: Place the sandwiched project under the heat and transfer according to the blank specifications. This Glitter Zip Case calls for 385℉ for 45 seconds.
Step 11: After heat set, take-a-peek at the zip case to ensure transfer was successful, key is to not remove any tape. This way you can heat again if needed.
Step 12: Remove paper to reveal the transferred design. Allow to cool, and repeat the above steps for the other side.
The Artesprix BOTM Glitter Zip Case would be a great way to personalize for back to school. I hope you found inspiration away from this project and will give Artesprix Sublimation products a try. Happy Day!
