Learn how to sublimate an Artesprix Maple Key Chain using Iron-on-Ink

Gift a DIY Mandala Artesprix KeyChain designed with Artespirx Sublimation Markers that lasts a lifetime…

Hi, it’s Ivy here and today I have a fun rainbow mandala keychain to share with you. I was recently given this beautiful stamp and right away I knew I wanted to use it with my Artesprix Stamps and markers to color it in! Let’s get started.

Final Mandala Key Chain

Materials:

  1. Sublimation Iron-on-Ink Stamp Pad
  2. Artesprix Sublimation Markers
  3. Copy paper
  4. Maple Keychain
  5. Heat Tape
  6. Protective Paper
  7. Mandala Stamp

Tools:

  1. Pencil
  2. Scissor
  3. Heat Press, dry iron, or home iron
Supplies needed

Step by Step Instructions:

Step 1.

Iron-on-Ink projects are always completed on Plain Copy Paper first. Sometimes I used my Iron-on-Ink markers first but this time I thought it would be fun to use my Mandala Stamp and then color with my markers. The pad is saturated with Ink so dab lightly, a little goes a long way! Once your stamp is all inked up, press it firmly on your copy paper.

Step 2.

Over your stamped image trace your Maple Bag Tag. It is okay if your stamp is outside the traced blank, just know that anything outside your blank with not transfer to your final project.

Pro Tip:

After you stamp using Iron-on-Ink it let the design dry for about 20-30 seconds before going in with my markers.

Step 3.

Start coloring! I mostly used the Original and Primary Makers to color in my Mandala image.

Pro Tip:

Color outside the traced lines to cover your edges.

Step 4.

Use your Artesprix Heat Tape and tape Maple Keychain down to your Iron-on-Ink design.

Step 5.

Cut your Artesprix Protective Paper & create a sandwich it between the two pieces of your protective paper. This creates an Artesprix Sublimation Sandwich. The Sublimation Sandwich should be placed upwards in the Heat Press so you insure possible image transfer. Press your Maple Keychain in your Artespirx Heat Press set at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 60 seconds.

Step 6.

Peel off your copy paper and take a peek. I like to keep the other side of the tape on just in case I need to press again. The reveals are always my favorite part because the color comes out so much more vibrant than on the copy paper.

Step 7.

Time to put on the key ring to complete the Maple Keychain Project. It is very easy to put together and with just a little pressure it pops right into place.

Now, your Rainbow Mandala Keychain is complete! It’s fun to make Iron-on-Ink personalized and added some beads for a final touch.
