Sequin Zip Case, Stamp Pads

Hey, it’s me, Kelly Nagy, a passionate paper crafter known as StampedbyKelly on social media. Embark on a dazzling project crafted in honor of Olympian Monet Nichols, who soared in the women's long jump at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Using layering stencils from my stash and Artesprix products, I transformed a Sequin Zip Case into a heartfelt gift for a dear friend. Join me in celebrating Monet's athletic achievement with a touch of shimmer and creativity!

Step-By-Step Tutorial:

Step 1: Using copy paper and a regular pencil, trace your blank onto the paper to create a template.

Step 2: Select stencils from your craft stash to compliment your custom design. I used a layering stencil from The Greetery to create a celebratory feel. I ink blended using the Red Sublimation Ink Pad.

Pro Tip: I used a layering stencil and used the remains on the blending brush as sort of a second generation color. It was lighter than the intense cover I applied. The specialized ink is very pigmented and worked great!

Step 3: Use Artesprix Modern Alphabet Stencil and trace letters to customize your transfer. Place the stencil on the paper with the reversed letters showing, this will create the mirror-image needed for sublimation.

Step 4: Flip all the sequins carefully so the white side is facing up. Grab a set of tweezers for any sequins that need extra assistance!

Step 5: Cut down transfer if needed and place the blank on top. Secure the paper face down, being mindful of heat press placement avoiding zipper. Use enough heat tape to prevent ghosting images, especially with a handheld press.

Step 6: Preheat your heat press to 385°F and prepare a "sublimation sandwich" with siliconized Protective Paper to protect both sides of the blank and the work surface.

Step 7: Press for 45 seconds with the hand press, utilizing a Protective Project Mat for surface protection.

Step 8: Perform a "peek test" before removing the tape out of place. By keeping the design in place during the step, you have the option to re-press if needed.

Step 9: Allow the project to cool, then remove all tape and paper to reveal your beautiful custom bottle opener.
